Santa Clara County is in EPA Radon Zone 2. About 1 in 12 radon tests in Santa Clara County exceeds the EPA action Level of 4 pCi/L. Occasional tests exceed 50 pCi/L.
Linda Kincaid was one of the first investigators to identify homes with elevated radon emitted by radioactive granite.
She presented a Case Study on residential radon from radioactive granite at the 2009 American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists Symposium.
